Google Pixel Pro 7
The launch of the Pixel 7 Pro demonstrates that Google has taken the development of its mobile devices to a new level of seriousness. In its pursuit to become the finest Android phone, this brand-new flagship model, which features a gorgeously polished design, pulls out all the design stops. Because of its incredible cameras, brand-new Tensor G2 processor, brighter display, and outstanding pricing, the Google Pixel 7 Pro is quickly becoming one of my top choices for an Android device.
The most recent version of Google's smartphone addresses a number of the shortcomings of its predecessor, the Pixel 6 Pro, including a quicker fingerprint sensor and improved anecdotal battery life.
The latest version of Google's Tensor G2 hardware is just another thing working in favor of the Pixel 7 Pro. Not only is the CPU in this year's phone far quicker than the one in the first-generation model, but it also offers a ton of brand-new artificial intelligence and machine learning features that are exclusive to the Pixel 7 Pro and the Pixel 7.
- Distinctive camera strip
- Hazel, Snow, and Obsidian color options
- Refined, curved-edge display
The Google Pixel 7 Pro stands out from the crowd when compared to the designs of other smartphones on the market, and although we appreciate the way it looks in general, it's not our go-to device for carrying around and flaunting in public. The camera ring gives the impression that the phone is more well-balanced and symmetrical than it actually is; nonetheless, the shiny surface attracts fingerprints and the colors look a little dated.
Google is fond of exaggerating the number of color options it provides, but in reality, there are only three: white, black, and multicolored. The display of the Pixel 7 Pro utilizes the same scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass Victus that is found on all of today's leading smartphones. The Pixel 7 Pro is water-resistant to a depth of one meter and has an IP68 rating for protection against the elements. There is a USB-C connector for charging at 30W, however there is no headphone jack on this device. Large stereo speakers can be heard emitting from the bottom of the device.
The phone is not the most comfortable to carry in one's hand. It has a display that is 6.7 inches in size and is made of glossy black glass, which makes it somewhat slippery. We were really fortunate that Google included a case in the package, and we have used it to protect our phone ever since we got it.
With each new iteration, Google's Pixel smartphones have exuded a more luxury and sophisticated feel in the hand.
- 50MP main, 48MP 5x zoom, 12MP ultra-wide macro
- Macro Focus and Super Zoom enhanced by Tensor G2
- Plenty of software assistance
Simple still images are the camera's strong suit. Great images are almost always produced through portrait, particularly when the lighting is dim. Selfies seem deep and welcoming. It is quite simple to hop into the camera immediately and start shooting pictures by just pressing the Power button twice, which is a function that is switched on by default. This makes it very easy to start taking pictures.
Although it has one of the greatest smartphone cameras ever, the Google Pixel 7 Pro also serves as a useful reminder of the constraints that are inherent to these devices' imaging capabilities. A good many of the grand claims that Google made in the course of its introduction, such as Macro Focus and Super Zoom, were not entirely accurate. Other functions, such as Photo Unblur and Night Sight, perform exceedingly well in comparison to what we had anticipated from them.
When compared to the more involved Galaxy S22 Ultra, the Pixel 7 Pro has superior on-screen controls and simpler Pro photography settings. The brightness and color temperature may be manually adjusted with minimal effort. Unlike the Samsung, you won't have to juggle a variety of controls that are more at home on a DSLR and have no practical application on a phone camera.
However, the Camera app may benefit from a more logical layout. The camera's settings cannot be rearranged, nor can you delete unnecessary settings.
Google's camera has some neat AI extras. Along with the Night Sight option, the camera's Real Tone feature analyzes skin tones to ensure proper exposure. If you're shooting a group photo, the Top Shot option will automatically identify people whose faces you've seen before and keep them in sharp focus.

To acquire 128GB of storage on the Pixel 7 Pro, you'll need to shell out at least $899 (or £849, or AU$1,299). For 256GB of storage, the price jumps to $999/£949/AU$1,449 and $1,099/AU$1,599 (the 512GB variant is unavailable in the UK). No matter how much storage space you go with, the Pixel 7 Pro will always have 12GB of RAM.
Google's Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 7 follow the company's tradition of offering its smartphones at somewhat lower prices than those of their rivals. Starting at $999 / £1,099 / AU$1,749, the Pixel 7 Pro is not only cheaper than the iPhone 14 Pro, but it also shields customers in the UK and Australia from the same price increase that iPhone owners saw this year.
- 6.7-inch LTPO OLED display
- Sharper pixel density than competitors
- 120Hz refresh rate
The display of the Google Pixel 7 Pro is noticeably superior. It shines with a vivid array of colors. Even in direct sunshine, reading it is a pleasure, and it is simple to utilize for taking images.
The display of the Pixel 7 Pro is an LTPO OLED, which means it is extremely sharp.
Maximum screen refresh rates of up to 120 Hz are supported. Quick navigation is available across the user interface and home screens. On this phone, navigating the menus and app lists feels more fluid. On this screen, the games look just great. During our evaluation period, the fingerprint scanner on the Pixel 7 Pro was shockingly quick.
Specs and Performance
- Improved graphics to due Google Tensor G2
- Interface search is very fast
- 12GB of RAM at every storage level
Although the Google Tensor G2 engine does not have the most modern and fastest ARM cores in its CPU, Google has considerably enhanced the graphics over last year's platform, which makes a huge difference.
Every Google Pixel 7 Pro comes with the full 12GB of RAM, regardless of storage selection. The complete complement of memory improves performance, and we prefer that the lowest tier is not disregarded.
The Pixel 7 Pro is equipped with cutting-edge networking technologies, such as 5G for networks that use Sub6 5G or the more exclusive mmWave 5G. You can also get Wi-Fi up to Wi-Fi 6e if you have home equipment that can use the additional bands and capabilities.

It comes pre-installed with Android 13, which has a very clean, consistent, and user-friendly UI design. It looks great and makes sense, especially if you use Google's mobile search tools to get what you're looking for.
The fastest way to navigate the phone is to search. If you want an app, to change a setting, or to go directly into a feature, you should start a search window or say "Hey Google." You can use folders to arrange your home screens, but you don't have to.
The vast majority of changes are seamless and automated. The colors of the icons and menus are customized to match your themes. The context determines which apps and functionalities are recommended. There are fewer widgets and options for home screens, but they are more customizable and user-friendly.
The number of features that employ graphical sliders and intuitive controls rather than lists and checkboxes on Android has increased significantly. However, things could be a lot simpler.
If you use Google Photos on the Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 7, you may unblur any photo in your Google Photos library, whether it was taken with the Pixel 7 Pro or not. Thanks to new Tensor G2 chip
Google adds new features to its Pixel phones after they launch, a process known as Feature Drops, and the next drops for the Pixel 7 Pro might be highly interesting. Google, for example, is adding a Clear Calling feature to the Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 7, which will make calls sound better when heard. This capability will be accessible on older Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro models as well.
According to Google, the Pixel 7 Pro will receive security updates for five years but just three years of Android OS updates.
- Up to a full day’s of battery life
- Charging speed is only average
- Supports wireless power-sharing
The Pixel 7 Pro has a strong battery life, lasting more than a day on a single charge. According to Google, the phone can charge to 50% in 30 minutes. In one hour, the battery is fully charged. Google does not supply a charger with the phone; instead, it includes a USB-C cable and an adaptor to connect your previous phone's cord to transfer data.
There are two modes: Battery Saver and Extreme Battery Saver. Both of these disable an increasing number of functionality. The Pixel 7 Pro also enables wireless charging in both ways.
With the Pixel 7 Pro, Google finally brought their smartphone vision to life. This device is excellent from design to Tensor G2 to camera. As for the latter, there are no better Android camera phones out there. Even the iPhone 14 Pro is on guard now. Overall, we're confident that the Pixel 7 Pro is one, if not the best Android phone you can buy.
