1. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4

The Redmi Note 4 recently became the most shipped Smartphone in the first quarter of 2017 and for many good reasons. This phone from the Chinese company Xiaomi rivals all the big names in the market. It was launched in January 2017(In India) to a massive reaction. It comes in three variants. A 2GB RAM/32GB Storage, a 3GB RAM/32GB storage and a 4GB/64GB storage for Rs. 10,000, Rs. 10,999 and Rs. 12,999 respectively. We will be talking about the 2GB RAM/32GB model here.

The Redmi Note 4 has metal body and carries a pretty amazing 4100 mAh battery. It sports a fingerprint sensor at the back below the camera that is easy to reach. The bonus of having this phone is its IR ( InfraRed) Blaster that enables us to control TVs and other IR related appliances.

The phone previously ran on Android Marshmallow OS. But now with an upgrade, it runs on the latest Android 7.1 Nougat OS under the MIUI skin of Xiaomi. The phone has a 5.5 inch display with vibrant colors. The 13 Mega-Pixel camera produces great pictures at the price range. For the selfie needs, it has a 5 Mega-Pixel camera. The phone runs on an Octa-core Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 CPU, clocked at 2.0 GHz, that is the market standard.

It has a hybrid SIM-slot however, which means that you can either use two SIM cards at once or a SIM and an SD card at the other. But in my opinion, with 32GB in-built storage, it should not be a big concern. The phone performs brilliantly in all the aspects.

It is available exclusively on Flipkart and is sold via flash sale every wednesday 12:00 PM. Be sure to try every Wednesday because the stocks sell out pretty quickly.

2. Lenovo K6 Power

The phone is aptly named power because that is what it represents with its 4000 mAh battery that gives it a great stand-by time. The battery life of the phone is amazing for a smartphone, It is a 5 inch smartphone with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. It has a metal unibody design with non-removable battery. The phone supports voLTE and has a hybrid SIM card slot.

There is no standout aspect of this phone in terms of look and design though. But that does not mean that it is ugly. It looks astoundingly pretty. It looks like other phones (Redmi 3s prime for example) in this price segment with a fingerprint sensor at the back just below the camera and flash. It comes in three colors- Gold, Silver and Dark Grey.

It has one of the best cameras amongst its rivals with 13 Mega-Pixel at the back and 5 Mega-Pixel at the front. At the lower back, we have two Dolby Atmos powered speakers. The sound quality is literally fantastic as I have experienced it myself. The volume is also pretty loud without stuttering or reducing the quality.

There is also another Lenovo k6 Power variant priced a little higher at Rs. 10,999 with 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage with most of other specifications remaining the same. The performance is top-notch with almost no lagging. At the gaming horizon, the phone delivers smoothly thanks to its Adreno 505 GPU.

The phone is available exclusively on Flipkart. If you are looking for a solid phone with near-stock Android experience and battery is your priority, order this phone right away. You won't be disappointed.

3. YU Yureka Black

The YU Yureka Black is a recently launched smartphone by YU Televentures. It is one of the better looking phones in the 10k price segment with a premium feel to it. It is only available in black however, as its name suggests. The phone packs 4GB of RAM that is impressive with 32GB of internal storage. Under the hood, the phone is powered by the tried and tested Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at 1.4 Ghz. Its battery is 3000 mAh. Despite being lower as compared to other phones in this segment, the battery life is quite good.

Phone supports 4G LTE and voLTE. It also has a hybrid dual sim slot.

On the camera's perspective, it has a 13 MP rear and an 8 MP front-facing camera. The camera performance is not groundbreaking but it is decent. But, the low-light imaging could be better. It runs on Android 6.0 OS that is a bit old now but nonetheless is fast and snappy.

The looks of this phone are beautiful. On its 5.0 inches screen frame, is has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection that serves as an added bonus. The camera is at the center-back with the flash being just a liilte bit below. The navigation keys are touch except the center physical home button with an integrated fingerprint sensor.

Required software updates are expected to roll in very near future. The phone performs greatly overall and is a great choice for buying because of its huge RAM and recent release. It is exclusively available on Flipkart and is value for money.

4. Xiaomi Redmi 4A

Another entry from Xiaomi here. The Xiaomi Redmi 4A is basically the little sibling of Xiaomi Redmi 4. Redmi 4 is also a pretty good phone, but I have focussed on the users with a tight budget on this entry. Since the Redmi 4A costs Rs. 5,999 only, it fits that mold (sorry Redmi 4!). No other phone touches its performance in this price range. This phone provides great performance without weighing down your pocket.

The look and feel of this phone is like any other Xiaomi phone. It has a 5.0 inches display and it looks quite decent actually. It runs on MIUI 8 based on android OS. The camera is 13 MP and 5 MP on the rear and front respectively, and performs above average to be honest.

Inner portion includes 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 System-on-chip that promise a near-lag free experience. It also has a IR Blaster to control various appliances and works well with major TV sets and set-top boxes. Like other smartphones on this list, it sports a hybrid SIM slot too.

The only major setback of this phone is the absence of a fingerprint sensor. Otherwise, it definitely raises the bar under this price segment and makes the competition tightened. The Redmi 4A is available exclusively on Amazon via flash sales. If you have a limited budget and need an awesome performing phone, Redmi 4A should be on the top of your list.

5. Motorola Moto G4

The Moto G4 is a smartphone launched in May of 2016. It comes with a 5.0 inch beautiful screen display at a PPI of 401 pixels per inch. It is a gorgeous looking phone with a non-removable 3000 mAh battery. Unlike all other phones on this list that have hybrid SIM slots, it has a dedicated dual SIM slot. The connectivity supports 4G, 3G and 2G.

Under the hood, the smartphone has 2GB of RAM and a bit outdated Snapdragon 617 processor. But that does not affect its performance thanks to Motorola optimization. The phone performs fantastically while maintaining its ground with its competitors. There is 16GB of internal storage available on-board which can further be expanded to 128GB via micro-SD card.

The Moto G4 carries a 13 MP primary rear camera and a 5 MP front shooter for the selfie-genics. The camera performs decently and produces nice images. Low-light images are a bit disappointing though.

The major highlight of this phone is the best in class software support. It runs on pure Android User Interface and gives an awesome stock UI experience. There is no space-eating bloatware on the phone and it is one of the most unadulterated Android phone you can find. It promises regular updates so you stay ahead with the latest versions of the Google's OS.

The lack of a fingerprint sensor may convince you not to buy it because most of the phones under 10k have a sensor these days. Keeping that aside, it is one the best performing phones in under the Rs. 10k category that you can get your hands on. The phone is available on Amazon and is highly recommended.
