The Best Keyboards of 2022

Why precisely should you spend your money on a premium keyboard when there are so many options available on Amazon that are ridiculously affordable?

As an input device, any average keyboard is capable of doing its duties correctly. Typing on a keyboard of higher quality, on the other hand, is both more pleasurable and more comfortable, in addition to being more accurate, faster, and far more sensitive.

The way you interact with your computer will shift, and the quality of the experience you get will improve as a whole as a result, just as it does when you use the greatest mouse and the best display.

1. Cherry Stream Desktop Keyboard

This inexpensive keyboard does not sacrifice performance. The Cherry Stream Desktop keyboard is arguably one of the best keyboards of 2022 despite not being the most attractive or compact. This no-nonsense Cherry SX scissor-switch keyboard returns to the fundamentals while while incorporating essential modern pleasures.

This Cherry SX scissor-switch keyboard is not only durable and inexpensive, but it also provides tremendous performance and even greater comfort, making it a delight to use despite its lack of aesthetic appeal.

In addition, the setup is astonishingly simple, something that many casual users will appreciate. You only need a single dongle to connect it and its corresponding mouse to your computer or laptop, freeing up connections for additional accessories. Not all wonderful things come in elegant packaging.

2. Logitech MX Keys Mini

This is an excellent tiny keyboard designed for remote and hybrid workers. The Logitech MX Keys Compact is one of the best mini keyboards on the market. Being not only small, but also thin and light, it is great for travel and commuting, as well as home use, providing the versatility that many remote and hybrid workers want today.

It provides a nice typing experience despite lacking mechanical switches, as its keys are ergonomically engineered to keep your fingers in place and feel tactile despite its diminutive size. It is also durable, as there are no visible scrapes or bumps.

And, unsurprisingly, since this is a Logitech product, there is an excellent mechanism for multi-device connectivity, allowing you to pair it with three devices at once and switch between them on the fly.

3. Razer Pro Type Ultra

This mechanical keyboard is quiet and warrants its premium price. The Razer Pro Type Ultra may be expensive, but it is a device you would be prepared to pay for since it is beneficial. Fitted with silent and linear mechanical keys, you will have tactile feedback without the unpleasant click-clacking that could irritate your coworkers and clients during video conferences.

Additionally, it includes three connectivity choices, compatibility with many devices, and a premium wrist pad to keep your wrists comfortable during lengthy typing sessions. Bluetooth has a maximum battery life of 214 hours, while the 2.4GHz dongle has a maximum battery life of 207 hours while using wireless communication. Obviously, you may also use a cable if you don't want to charge your device every time the battery dies.

With the Razer Pro Click Mini, you may never look at your productivity workload in the same way again.

4. Razer Huntsman v2 Analog

This is the best keyboard overall. The Razer Huntsman v2 Analog combines the newest optical technology and Razer’s analog mechanical key switches, and it is good enough to gain a five-star rating. And, that’s under-selling it. This gaming keyboard may be a bit older, but it's the the greatest keyboard on the market, giving an incredible typing and gaming experience. That's owing in large part to its highly gratifying tactile input and a wrist rest that’s designed to allow you game comfortably and for longer.

As far as keyboards go, it is sitting on the costly side of things. But, that price isn’t really unexpected, considering it’s crammed with features as well—more precisely, features you’d be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. That includes its fully configurable key actuation and dual-step key activation, which are both geared to help you get to the top of the leaderboards.

Let’s not forget to include Razer’s newest Analog Optical Switches, which are the cream of the keyboard switches crop.

5. Apple Magic Keyboard

This keyboard is the finest available for Mac users. Apple's Magic Keyboard is the most ergonomic, dependable, and aesthetically pleasing keyboard. Considering how pleasant it is to use, it's quite remarkable how slim and thin this keyboard is. The robust scissor mechanism, which Apple has also included in its computers, is largely responsible for the excellent bounce and gratifying tactile feedback.

Additionally, its Touch ID reader is snappy and performs exceptionally well, and it has a battery life of one month. It is really simple to use as well. The first time you turn it on, it will immediately couple with your Mac; that's very Apple. Being thin and compact makes it suitable for travel.

6. Razer Huntsman V2

This gaming keyboard is the best and fastest available. There are so many things I appreciate about the Razer Huntsman V2 that I scarcely know where to begin. This optical keyboard is jam-packed with features, making it one of the finest gaming keyboards available. Its 8,000Hz polling rate, which should delight competitive gamers and fast, powerful typists, is perhaps the greatest of all.

It is also ergonomic, versatile, and aesthetically lovely, with keycaps that we found pleasant to use for long periods of time, completely programmable keys, and RGB lighting that wraps it like a bow. The soft wrist support is also a desirable feature because it prevents wrist fatigue.

In addition, it is significantly quieter than its mechanical competitors. This is a significant advantage for gamers who love late-night button pounding and speed typing sessions. It is not the cheapest option, but it is definitely worth our money.

7. Logitech Craft

The most effective keyboard for content creators. The Logitech Craft is a keyboard developed with content creators specifically in mind. This durable, haptic, and aesthetically pleasing keyboard also incorporates a unique dial in its upper left corner. It is essential because it helps creatives streamline and accelerate their workflow while refocusing attention on the creative process. This dial's functionality varies depending on the application, from managing the desktop volume to adjusting the levels of various Photoshop tools.

During our tests, the remainder of the keyboard had decent actuation, a pleasant bounce back, and great accuracy with no discernible lags.

Selecting the Most Appropriate Keyboard for Your Needs

Gamers place a higher value on the actuation that mechanical keyboards with a clicky feeling deliver, whilst regular home and office users are more concerned with the usability of a device.

Having said that, the sheer loudness of the sound that many mechanical keyboards create might be off-putting to some people. I also have various membrane keyboards that I might recommend to those individuals who are interested.
