Even though I am busy, I try to find enough time each day to read my latest mystery novel. And when I do so, a little background music is always nice. I usually plug in a pair of earbuds, utilizing Bluetooth to connect them to Amazon music through my cellphone.
Lately, I’ve been using a set of Fiil CC2 True Wireless Earbuds.
The Fiil CC2 earbuds arrived well protected in a nicely designed cardboard box. Each earbud weighs 4 grams and is 1.57 inches in length. The accompanying recharging case weighs in at 1.28 ounces. This case is 2 inches high, 1.8 inches wide, and 0.8 inches thick. Both the earbuds and the case are composed of gray-colored plastic with black accents.
Power is supplied by rechargeable lithium batteries fitted to each of the earbuds and the case. According to the manufacturer, up to five hours of music can be played before the earbuds require recharging. When used in conjunction with a fully charged case, total playing time can be as high as 32 hours.
This Bluetooth 5.2 equipped system can be controlled by the Fiil plus application.
These earbuds can be worn while listening to music, watching videos, playing games, or talking over a cellphone.

Design and Fit
The earbuds I’ve reviewed in the past were rounded bug-shaped devices designed to work with silicone ear tips. These CC2 earbuds feature ultra-thin, matte-metallic grey stems with a teardrop-shaped head.
They fit comfortably, sound great, and pose no threat of falling from my ears as I wander around the house.
True Wireless Stereo refers to a technology that allows two audio devices to be paired via Bluetooth. In the case of earbuds, different transmissions can be sent to the left and right earpieces. This permits the reception of a stereo signal.
The Fiil CC2 earbuds are Bluetooth 5.2 capable and compatible with earlier versions. This device paired quickly and easily to my smartphone. These earphones, which are equipped with microphones, can be used to make calls over a connected cellphone.
Bluetooth 5.2 provides a transmission range of about 33 feet. I was able to wander throughout my house without a loss of reception.
A minor hiccup occurred as I moved into the front porch. This was not unexpected. At that point, four walls obstructed the signal. Once I was outside, the signal remained good as I circled the house.
I paired the earbuds to my projector and watched a movie on Netflix. The device paired rapidly, and volume could be raised or lowered using the projector’s handheld remote.
The Fiil Plus Application
This application provides two modes of operation. Full Control Mode allows local control of the touch-sensitive earbuds. The application, on the other hand, is used to make most adjustments when in Easy Mode.
The application includes options permitting the user to select from a variety of preset EQ settings. Bass or treble can also be increased at the touch of a button. I find this setup more straightforward than the full-blown equalizer available for users of the Fiil T1XS.
These earbuds did a great job reproducing music. I had no problem picking up the distinct sounds of different instruments. The application allows you to adjust bass and treble and includes a selection of preset levels intended for use with specific genres of music.
According to the manufacturer, a fully charged earbud will function for up to five hours. When used in conjunction with the storage box charger, battery life should extend to up to 32 hours.
Typically, when finished listening to music, I store the earbuds in the case. This ensures they are fully charged when I require them again.
I like these earphones. They fit comfortably and reproduce music quite well. The battery life is excellent, the EQ settings provided by the application are helpful, and the entire package can be carried inside my pocket. The Fiil CC2 is recommended.
