Review of the Vogek Active Noise Cancelling Headphones
While listening to music at home, I often slip on my headphones and crank up the volume. I avoid disturbing others, and the thick padding around my ears, combined with the headset’s hybrid active noise canceling, keeps background noises at bay.
A headset of this type, however, is not the best option when jogging along the street. It’s a bit heavy, and outside sounds are reduced to the point that could prove dangerous.
While searching for a lightweight set of earbuds that featured a more moderate form of noise reduction, I came across Vogek’s ANC headphones.
These earbuds weigh in at 1.3 ounces and come with a carrying case that adds two ounces to the total weight. A short charging cable and three differently sized sets of ear cushions are also included.
A soft and flexible neck collar contains the battery and microphone, as well as Bluetooth and ANC circuitry. A short cable extends from each end of the collar, terminating with an earpiece.
Each earpiece is equipped with an eleven-millimeter driver.
This device’s rechargeable 180mAh battery is rated for nine to twelve hours, dependent upon whether the active noise canceling feature is turned on or off. When connected to a cellphone, the earbud’s battery level can easily be checked.
The Vogek ANC headphone features both Bluetooth 5.0 and active noise canceling.

I liked the zippered carrying case, and the neck collar is less intrusive than dangling wires.
This device appears to be well manufactured, and it performed faultlessly throughout my test procedures. Because the battery and control functions are integrated into the neck collar, there are fewer connections that could be affected by wear and tear.
Of the three sets of ear cushions provided, the medium-sized set worked best for me. The earpieces fit well and can be worn for hours without discomfort. About half of the weight of this device is supported by the wearer’s neck.
These earbuds are Bluetooth 5.0 capable but compatible with earlier versions. The device paired with both my computer and phone quickly and without complications.
The theoretical maximum distance for Bluetooth 5.0 is 240 meters (800 feet), but Vogek, more practically, rates the broadcast range at 33 feet.
I placed my cellphone on the kitchen table and opened Amazon Music. While listening to a jazz station, I wandered around the house, testing the device’s reception. The only problem I encountered was when entering the front porch at the far end of the building. In this case, there were three walls blocking the signal which was being transmitted from about thirty feet away. Once I entered the front porch, the signal was regained.
There are two types of noise-canceling systems utilized in conjunction with headsets. Passive noise reduction involves the use of materials in the ear cushions that deaden outside sounds. The effect of passive noise canceling in a set of earbuds is negligible.
The Vogek earbuds, however, features active noise canceling. When this system is initiated, the device’s microphone monitors outside sounds. Then the JH-ANC10 creates sound waves that mimic the incoming noise in every respect except one: the headphone's output is 180 degrees out of phase with the intruding waves.
In this case, sounds between the frequencies of 50Hz and 1Khz are noticeably reduced. Low pitched sounds such as those produced by fans will become less apparent.
I should add that owners of full-size headsets equipped with hybrid ANC will be disappointed with the noise reduction of the JH-ANC10. These much more expensive devices do a better job of muffling and eliminating outside sounds. Remember, however, that when you are jogging along a street, you do not want to be unaware of the passing traffic.
I am always amazed by the performance of the tiny drivers used in earbuds. This offering from Vogek is no exception. Volume can be raised without noticeable distortion, sound is crisp, and the bass is quite good.
I have tested several types of earbuds over the last year, and each one of them has its distinct list of strengths and weaknesses. The set I usually chose to wear is this one. It is the most comfortable and quickly connects, via Bluetooth, to my phone whenever I turn it on. The are recommended. Vogek ANC Headphones
