Review of Benuo Magnetic Car Phone Mount
Magnetic Phone Mount for Your Car
All you need to do to install is input the holder into your car's horizontal air vent and place your phone on top. And unlike the sticky mounts, this product will never leave a mark, and it'll keep your phone secured during the bumpiest drives.
It's an accessory everyone could use because it isn't pricey and it offers supreme convenience.
Color: Black & Silver
Material: ABS + Silicone + Magnet
Dimensions (phone mount only): 4.2 x 1.2 x 1.5 (inch)
Size of circular metal plate: 1.57 inches across
Size of rectangular metal plate: 2.56 x 1.77 inches (L x H)
What's included: Car Phone Holder + Circular Metal Plate w/3M Adhesive + Rectangular Metal Plate
How to Install Car Mount
Installation of the Benuo mount is a breeze and much simpler than similar items.
- Figure out whether you'd like to use the mount with a plain phone or a phone w/case
- If you're using a phone case, then take it off and place the rectangular metal plate inside the case facing upwards
- Put the phone back into the case and place your cell on the magnetic mount
- If you're not using a case, then attach the circular metal plate to the back of the phone with the 3M adhesive side facing the mount
- The circular adhesive metal plate may be used with pop sockets
If for any reason your phone case is too thick, then attach the circular plate directly on the case (smooth case works best). In addition, if you plan on using your phone's wireless charging feature, then remove the metal plating before doing so.
How It Compares to Non-magnetic Car Mounts
Air vent mounts have clear advantages over stick-on varieties like iOttie such as:
- Easier to set up
- Does not leave a mark
- More accessible
- Simple phone removal
It takes more preparation to attach a sticky mount to your dashboard, and when you do, you better make sure the placement is fantastic because it will leave a circular mark on the dash.
Additionally, the air vents in cars are more accessible than a dashboard particularly when I need to quickly reach for my phone.
Finally, phones placed on magnetic mounts can be attached/removed with a simple press/grab, making them far less complicated than other holder types.
The Benuo device isn't just any old magnet, and there are numerous less talked about features that truly make it stand out from the bundle.
5 Best Features
Strong Absorption Magnets
- Doesn't Disturb Phone Signal
- Modern Design
- Multi-rotational Viewing
- Doubles as a Deck Stand
Strong Absorption Magnets
The mount contains four evenly distributed interior magnets that stabilize any device placed on top of it, and the included metal plates provide an added layer of solidity.
They ensure that my phone won't fall off even in treacherous conditions.
And most importantly, the magnets will not damage your phone, making them safe enough to use on a daily basis.
Doesn't Disturb Phone Signal
The magnets don't just provide stability, they're also set up in a way that won't interfere with your phone's signal.
Thanks to the closed magnetic field, I can rest calmly knowing my phone's communications will never be disturbed during critical situations.
I really like the design of this mount because it's stylish, it blends in, and it flawlessly positions into my car's air vent.
The double vent clips slide firmly into the air vents, and they obstruct the product from view if you don't want to show it off.
Personally I'd be happy to present this device to someone because the high quality aluminum and ABS materials give it a luxurious presence.
Due to the product's standalone design, you can rotate your phone 360° on the platform for horizontal or vertical viewing.
The viewing modes are great for navigation or watching videos, and best of all, your device will stay put no matter what.
Now that's what I call multi-faceted.
Doubles as a Deck Stand
You can literally pull the mount right out of your car and use it at home or on-the-go as your phone's very own deck stand.
I've used it as a horizontal and vertical stand when not driving and take it with me when I do drive. The deck stand adaptability is another feature that most car mounts just aren't capable of.
So are there any drawbacks to using these kinds of phone mounts?
Of course, and here are just a few concerns that I've discovered.
As far as I know, you won't be able to use your phone's Qi charging unless you remove the rectangular or circular metal plates from the phone or case.
Advanced versions of sticky mounts have built-in Qi wireless charging, which is something I haven't seen with magnetic varieties.
Some other complaints include:
- Horizontal Air Vent Use Only
- Less Stability Than Adhesives
- Doesn't Include a Clamp Mechanism
The item only works with horizontal vents, so if your car uses other types of air vents, then you're in trouble.
More over, I have concerns about the magnetic mount's permanence versus the stick-on ones. The roads I've driven on during testing have been bumpy but not terribly so, and I do feel like my iOttie would be able to survive more hazardous road conditions.
One last complaint was that the mounting was friction fit only (push over vent) instead of a clamp mechanism, which means it may not adapt to all vehicles.
After meticulously testing the Benuo car mount, I will very confident about this product.
I would give the Benuo Magnetic Car Phone Mount Holder 4.75 out of 5 stars.
It's very affordable, the magnets are incredibly stable, the design is excellent, it's super easy to install, and it can double as a deck stand. I felt that the complaints listed were relatively minor and they had little impact on the total score.
Overall I would definitely recommend this product for all the positive reasons given.
It's the best way to add a mountable display to older vehicles, and at $15.99, it's an extremely affordable and useful car or phone accessory.
