Choetech 3 Port Car Charger With Power Delivery

Choetech's 3 Port USB Car Charger With Power Delivery ($19.99) can simultaneously charge three devices at once with 30W of charging power.

The Power Delivery can recharge a Samsung or an iPhone X in as little as one hour, which is much faster than standard charging devices.

The car adapter has USB-C PD and USD-IF safety certifications meaning you won't have to worry about it destroying your devices. It's also small enough to bring with you wherever you go.

Choetech makes excellent car adapters, and this item is no exception. At only $20, it's a car charger that's a must-have for any frequent traveler.

List of Compatible Devices

The Power Delivery works with a slew of high-end devices just as long as you have the right cables for it.

Power Delivery Compatible Models

  • iPhone X

  • iPhone 8/8+
  • Samsung Note 8/9
  • Samsung Galaxy 8/8+/9/9+
  • Google Pixel 2/XL/2XL
  • Nexus 5x/6P
  • LG G6
  • HTC 10
  • Huawei Mate 10

Note: Not all compatible models may be listed above.

For Apple models, you'll need to purchase a separate USB-C to lightning cable while Android phones will require a USB-C to USB-C cable.

If your phone cannot use PD, then you can always use the other two ports and get up to 2.4 amps of charge per slot. The 2.4 amps are plenty fast and should fully charge your phone in under 2 hours.

Best Features of PD Choetech Charger

If you're on the fence about whether or not to purchase this product, then please take a look at some of the top features below.

5 Best Features

  • Fully Safety Certifications

  • 3 Charging Ports
  • Power Delivery
  • Bright LED Indicator Light
  • Smaller Than a Credit Card

Fully Safety Certifications

The Choetech PD Charger has USB-C PD, USD-IF, RoHS, CE, and FCC certifications with overheating, over-current, over-voltage, short-circuit, and EMI protections.

To put it lightly, it's an encrypted juggernaut that would have to be substantially altered to inflict significant damage on the devices plugged into it.

But that's not all.

The charger was also built with tough as nails fireproof material that won't explode when things get rough. It's truly one of the safest car chargers you can buy.

3 Charging Ports

Dual chargers are great, but I often find myself wishing there was an extra slot to charge my phone, GPS, and tablet.

The two USB-A ports are really good at charging pretty much any device you can think of, and the charging speeds are considerably faster than normal.

However the biggest selling point is the one special slot that truly makes this product stand out.

Power Delivery

The PD can quickly charge devices that would normally be sidelined by the Quick Charge feature.

Apple products, in particular, get a strong boost that QC cannot provide. It's strong enough to charge a dead iPhone to 50 percent in 30 minutes. The 18W of power is extremely effective in this regard.

Bright LED Indicator Light

It's such a small detail, but I love knowing that my phone or gadget is charging.

This charger sports a bright LED light that lets you know when it's working, so that you don't have to double check your phone. Many chargers have this indicator but few are as bright and prominent as this one is.

Smaller Than a Credit Card

It might be a bit wider than other car chargers, but it's still smaller than a credit card, which means it can be taken anywhere.

The item just feels compact, and I can't wait to bring it with me when I travel.

Biggest Customer Complaints

The product almost has a perfect rating on Amazon, but there were still a few cons that were mentioned.

Top 4 Consumer Issues

  • No Quick Charge Support

  • Plastic Build Feels Cheap
  • Large Fit for Cars
  • USB Cables Needed

No Quick Charge Support

Quick Charge performs really well for Samsung Galaxy phones, and it's sorely missed this time around. I like the PD, and it's plenty fast, but QC 3.0 is one of the fastest charging standards around.

If you're in need of QC car charger, then check out Choetech's QC compatible car charger.

Plastic Build Feels Cheap

I think the material and build of the adapter is good, but I suppose you can argue that it's not the best.

I have the other Choetech car charger and it does feel & look a bit better, but it's not like it will take away from this device. Ultimately it's a minor issue that you shouldn't worry about.

Large Fit for Cars

The shape of the charger is a bit wide compared to other gadgets, so I can see how this could be a problem. I've plugged it into the cigarette lighter of my Toyota and had no fitting issues, but it'll vary from vehicle to vehicle.

Just push it firmly into the lighter and you should be fine.

USB Cables Needed

If you purchase this car charger, then all you'll get is the car charger.

Companies not including the needed USB cables is a pet peeve of mine though I know why they do it.

Just be aware that if you own Apple and Android products, then you'll need to purchase a lightning/USB-C to USB-C cable to take advantage of PD.

You may also have to purchase additional USB-C/Micro USB-C to USB-A cables to use for the other two ports; hopefully you have at least one of those.

Note: Use the original cables that came with your devices/phones.

Final Review

After carefully analyzing this Choetech charger, I feel confident enough to recommend it to all consumers.

I would give the Choetech 3 Port USB Car Charger With PD 4.25 out of 5 stars.

The 2 extra ports are brilliant, the PD charges my phones very quickly, it's very compact, and the safety certifications are fantastic.

I wish other third-party companies would apply those rigorous safety checks because they're really important when dealing with lesser know brands.

As far as negatives go, the lack of cables is a clear detriment, the fit may not be perfect for all vehicle cigarette lighters, and no QC support does bring it down a peg. I would have given this product nearly 5 stars if one of the USB ports had QC, but what can you do.

Regardless of its faults, this is still a beneficial car charger from a reputable company. It'll get the job done and keep your devices safe and fully charged.

The 30W Choetech 3 Port USB Car Charger With Power Delivery is a must-have accessory that you should try whenever you get the chance.

In this day and age speed is everything, so it's necessary that consumers know what to expect.

I like that you gave a clear example of how fast it is — charging a dead iPhone to 50% in 30 minutes. That really helps someone know what exactly to expect.
