Choetech Dual Car Charger With Quick Charge 3.0

Choetech's 30W Dual USB Car Charger is a potent car adapter that maximizes charging with Quick Charge (QC) 3.0 and USB smart detect.

In particular, QC makes it possible to charge higher-end Android phones up to 4x faster than normal without damaging them. The USB smart detect maximizes charge speeds of up to 2.4 amps for iPhone X/8/8+ & lower end Android phones, but you'll need to purchase separate cables (micro-USB or lightning) to do so.

This product comes with only one USB-A to USB-C cable primarily used by Samsung Galaxy 8 and higher phones. Other phones may also use the USB-C cable but quick charge capabilities may not be executed.

Choetech's car charger has 30W of power that can quickly deliver power to most phones even without QC 3.0, so this is definitely one product you should check out.

How to Safely Use Car Charger

Once you have the right phone and the adapter is ready to use, then follow these guidelines to avoid misusing the product.

  1. To begin, start vehicle first before plugging in car charger
  2. Choose correct charging ports (blue is QC 3.0) for smartphones
  3. Remove charger when phone battery reaches 100%
  4. Remove car charger after turning off your vehicle

Not adhering to the rules above may damage your phone or adapter. It may also affect the Quick Charge feature or even stop your adapter from working, so it's important that you follow these safety steps.

Additionally, do not shake the charger while in use or spill liquids on it. Improper handling of the item may permanently damage it.

Best Features of Choetech Car Charger

There's a lot to love about this car charger, and below are some of my favorite features.

5 Best Features

  • Safety Device Protections

  • Inclusion of USB to USB-C Cable
  • Quick Charge 3.0 Is Backwards Compatible
  • USB Smart Detect
  • Fast & Compact

Safety Device Protections

With certified overheat, current, and short circuiting protections, it's no wonder that the best parts about this product are its safety features.

The adapter will never overheat, and it won't fry your phone/s. You can rest assure that your phone will get the right amount of charge without it going over and potentially harm your gadget.

Safety is my number one priority, and this Choetech charger doubles down on that.

Inclusion of USB to USB-C Cable

I've rarely seen products that included the necessary cables to go with them, so this is a huge bonus. Yes it may not have included all the wires you'll need, but it does have the one that could take advantage of the Quick Charge feature the most.

The best part is that the extra cable doesn't seem to affect the price too much. I'm happy they didn't price gouge the item, and I'm thrilled they added an accessory that most people would forget.

Quick Charge 3.0 Is Backwards Compatible

The Quick Charge slot is compatible will all three QC versions, which means you'll get a fully powered charge every time.

This really comes in handy as I have a lot of older Samsung phones that operate on the QC 2.0 version. The multi-compatibility is a remarkable feature, and it really expands the reach of phones you can charge quickly.

Not all of us have the biggest and greatest phones, so backwards compatibility is very compelling indeed.

USB Smart Detect

Not only is the blue rectangular slot for QC, it can also smart detect your devices and charge them accordingly.

Because every phone is different, the smart detect feature is a must-have and it'll protect your devices from overcharging.

The detect feature also works for the non-QC slot ensuring that your iPhones get the charge they need while staying secure.

Fast & Compact

The 2.4 amps of charging and the Quick Charge 3.0 powering will deliver very speedy charges of up to 75% faster than standard units.

But that's not all...

Because of the adapter's compact size, it can be taken anywhere. It's a fantastic travel accessory and will be very useful if you're constantly travelling about.

The adapter will also fit into any cigarette lighter perfectly without wiggling or slippage; it's truly the all-in-one tiny car charger we all need.

Biggest Customer Complaints

Despite the positives, there have been notable customer complaints that I will address in this section.

Top 5 Consumer Complaints

  • Fast Charging Stops
  • Other Cables Not Included
  • Damaged Product
  • Charger Stops Working
  • QC Not Compatible

Fast Charging Stops

For whatever reason, customers have complained that the QC feature will suddenly go kaput on their phones.

I haven't experienced this yet, but this is definitely something that shouldn't be ignored. The user manual comes with contact, warranty & support information, so always be sure to contact them if problems arise.

Other Cables Not Included

As good as the USB to USB-C cable was, not everyone has an upper-tier Android phone.

If you own a low-mid tier Android device or an Apple iPhone, then you'll need to purchase the micro USB and lightning cables separately. Those additional cables will jack up the total price by quite a bit, which is why I'm including this complaint.

I think a lot of customers will be annoyed that they have to buy more accessories just to use this item, and I don't blame them. Perhaps spending more overall would be worth it if the company could include the other cables.

Damaged Product

If your product is damaged, gets fried, or suffers some other type of serious defect, then contact Choetech right away.

The product is under an 18-month warranty and has a 30 day return policy, so please take advantage of this support if needed.

Also be sure to follow the proper protocol before using this adapter as mishandling the item may ruin the car charger and eliminate your chances of getting a refund or replacement.

Charger Stops Working

Just like with a damaged charger, if the product stops working, then contact customer support.

It's possible that you've received a broken charger unless you've used it the wrong way. Some important guidelines to follow are to always remove the phone from the charger if your phone is fully charged and to take the charger away from the lighter when the car is turned off.

You can e-mail Choetech at support@choetech.com if you have any other questions.

QC Not Compatible

If you don't use an Android phone, then QC will not work for you and you'll have to use the standardized charging, which is pretty fast in retrospect.

This could be an issue if you're really looking for fast charging speeds, but I don't think many customers would complain at what this product already does. The 2.4 amp max is no joke and will charge your iPhone very quickly even without QC.

Final Review

I've enjoyed testing this product, and I think you'll have a good time using it.

I would give the Choetech Dual USB Car Charger With Quick Charge 4 out of 5 stars.

It's a safety certified, dual USB car charger that packs a punch. The QC 3.0 is super fast, the smart detect is a must-have, and its compact size makes it the perfect travel accessory.

On the other hand, not all of the necessary cables are included and it's not the best charger for Apple devices, but don't think for a second this won't quickly charge your iPhone.

As far as other problems go, they mainly depend on how you use the adapter and whether or not you've received a defective product. If it's the latter, then let the company know and they will issue a refund or a replacement.

Overall, it's a great, little car charger that I could see myself using for years to come. So if you're in need of a super fast car charger, then look no further and invest in the Choetech 30W Dual USB Car Charger; you won't regret it!

Your Turn!

Would you buy the Choetech 30W Dual USB Car Charger?

We have a car charger and I am not even aware of what brand it is. I will check it out and compare it with Choetech. I will be more cognizant of how our charger functions.
