1 - CHEEZburger

CHEEZburger is a funny site that has a wide range of humor and memes you could find online.

At first, it was an original weblog called I Can Has Cheezburger, which featured LOLcats—funny pictures of animals (mostly cats) which have some sort of humorous captions. The site garnered so much popularity and fame that it became a wider collection of all things funny. It is now collectively known as CHEEZburger!

As I've mentioned, the site feature many kinds of memes. They have specialized sections such as:

  • I Can Has Cheezburger: A section featuring LOLcats and all sorts of other funny animals.
  • ROFLrazzi: A page dedicated to all that's funny in showbiz.
  • FAIL Blog: A blog of funny FAIL pictures and videos.
  • MemeBase: A collection of the wide variety of memes out there.
  • Geek Universe: A collection of jokes for different geek subcultures.

Note that all of these sections are just major categories on CHEEZburger. They all contains subgroups within them. Other sections carry more topics such as Engrish Funny, Rage Comics, FAILBook, Just for Pun, and so many more that you couldn't possibly consume in your lifetime. The universe of LOLs is just that gigantic!

2 - CollegeHumor

CollegeHumor is a website comprised of original funny videos, pictures, and articles! In essence, it's a place that showcases the most popular quirky stuff from around the world as well as the wackiest happenings on the web.

This comedy and entertainment website started off when two high school friends, Josh Abramson and Ricky Van Even, decided to create something that was both entertaining and would have wide appeal. And so, with some effort and strategy, CollegeHumor was born. As the name suggests, it caters to an audience in their late teens and twenties.

Through the years, the site has been very successful in delivering comedic content to its targeted audience as well as many others outside of it. Its fresh content is divided into categories such as their All-Original video series, photos collections covering sexy pic fails and idiots on Facebook, and articles such as The Troll and CollegeHumor Interviews.

3 - Funny Or Die

Funny Or Die is an entertainment website specializing in funny clips and comedy videos. They mostly feature well-known stars as well as aspiring comedians.

The name comes from its voting system where a viewer votes on whether a video is funny or if it can die. When a video clip receives many funny votes, it gets moved to the Immortal section. If it gets a lot of die votes, it gets moved to the Crypt section.

While the site is dedicated more to video, it also covers funny images, articles, music, and more.

4 - Quick Meme

Quick Meme has the tagline of "The Funniest Page on the Internet." While debatable, they are a strong contender for that title.

The site is a place of casual entertainment filled with memes and hilarious images.

The interface is very similar to 9GAG but it has different toolbars and buttons. While it isn't quite on par with that site yet, it does have a considerable amount of users as well as likes and shares on many different social networking sites.

So, if you want to take a break from more popular sites, then Quick Meme is a solid choice.

5 - Meme Center

Meme Center is dubbed as the largest creative humor community online. That's all self-proclaimed though, but it may very well earn that accolade.

This website has the scroll down feature of 9GAG, making it easy to navigate. Its traffic is strong as it gains around 7 million visitors per month, averaging around 2000 during any given time. It also sees a strong social network presence with the amount of likes, shares, and tweets it receives.

There is a wide range of memes available in both images and gifs. Joining the community and becoming an active user can have you potentially getting a shot to be on the Weekly Top Users sidebar.

So if it's a variety of funny memes that you are interested in, Meme Center is the place to go.

6 - The Oatmeal

The Oatmeal is a place featuring a funny mixture of web comics and articles. It combines the best of two worlds into a colorful mesh which is not only entertaining but also informative.

As a creation of Matthew Inman in 2009, The Oatmeal is loaded with comical art and drawings, all designed and drawn by Matthew himself. The name of the site comes from his nickname, which was "The Oatmeal." The site has a wide and diverse audience range. This is very impressive considering that all the content is created by one individual.

Currently, The Oatmeal has the following sections:

  • Comics: Entertaining strips of comic relief made by Matthew himself.
  • Quizzes: Tests with humor as well as questions that will keep you entertained for a few minutes.
  • Blog: A page with updates and news about the site.
  • Books: Some of the comics were actually made into books!
  • The Oatmeal Shop: A place where you can buy all the cute stuff you would see on the site.

7 - Uber Humor

Uber Humor is yet another gag website with the goal of spreading fun and humor all over the web. As of now, it is made up by various amounts of funny pictures, videos, and quotes.

The design of the site uses a functional scrolling interface for ease of navigation. Thanks to its funny content, this site is seeing its popularity grow on a constant basis.

The interface also has a ranking system where active members get a chance to join the ranks of the featured top users, which are selected based on karma points. You can also visit random posts just by clicking the randomizer button.

Overall, Uber Humor is a worthy 9GAG alternative.

8 - Evil Milk

Evil Milk is a fairly new website that was created in 2014. It features the latest weird, messed up, and funny pictures. Despite being more new, it already has a strong fanbase.

The content features funny photos, mostly of the epic fail variety. As simple and as niche as it is, this website is on the move to bringing more fail moments to sprinkle fun into the internet.

As one of the more recent entertainment websites out there, I say you should give it a chance.

9 - Funny Junk

Funny Junk is another site that mostly uses photo content. This site is more diversified as it more of a content aggregator that collects funny pics around the web.

The name comes from the fact that the content is a collection of every funny picture you would find online. Material is divided into channels for a specific audience. The channels include anime-manga, video games, morbid channel, bending time, and many more.

10 - eBaum's World

eBaum's World is a haven of diverse media. It comprises of web toons, games, videos, and more.

The website was created by Eric Bauman (hence, eBaum) and is based in Rochester, New York. Despite all the controversy of the site just collecting amusing stuff from around the web and re-branding them with their own name, the site is still alive and kicking. People will ignore those details to get their laughs.

The site has all its content organized into the following categories:

  • Funny: Wacky and amusing.
  • WTF: Crazy content.
  • Win: Funny moments of victory.
  • Fail: Epic fail moments.
  • Extreme: Awesome and impressive moments.
  • Gross: Gross out humor.
  • Ouch: Funny content at the expense of an individual's well-being.
