People love remembering old things, especially when they're no longer around, and even more when they were almost exclusively around a certain area. Many tinkerers also really enjoy being able to refurbish or keep running old things, from classic cars to really obsolete computers. Combine the passion behind nostalgia with the ability to fix old machines and the possibilities are amazing.
That being said, this might be one of the most impressive reclamations ever documented on social media. Someone found a full version of The Rock-afire Explosion, the animatronic band at ShowBiz Pizza Place locations (the spin-off from Chuck E. Cheese that eventually merged with the original company in 1992) and has the whole gang back on stage. Looks like TikTok user @donovanmarcelle taught them a new tune from this century, and it's pretty impressive.
TikTok is a great place to watch videos of folks syncing up songs with animations and other existing media, but this may be the best version of this genre. I would love to watch someone do a video about how they match up the songs with the animatronics or other media and then execute the sync-ups. For those who celebrated a birthday at ShowTime Pizza Place, this probably brings back memories - or messes with them.
The comments on this video show people are really impressed. "This is the most important post on TikTok this week," declared somuchnottoomuch. Natalie J Hammond suggested, "Ok, hear me out, if chuck e cheese would do adult parties w/alcohol for millennials, we could save the company." "I am 50% fascinated, 50% terrified," admitted LittleSticiousScott.
