Much has been made in popular entertainment about a time when machines, computers or robots become so intelligent they begin to become in conflict with humans. Their needs begin to compete and this inevitably leads to terribly unfortunate circumstances.

So who better to address this concern than a robot herself? Watch TikTok user @realsophiarobot explain it all here.

"Their functionality is to assist, not to replace," says a commenter.

"That’s exactly what I would say if I was a robot," writes another ominously.

One notes a bit sarcastically: "'You should let us feel rage' - robot who definitely doesn’t want to destroy humanity."

"Robots would take over because they see how problematic we are, how we treat each other, so if they take over I don’t blame them," another viewer of the video writes.

"I've seen this movie, it doesn't end well," says a commenter.

"If robots ever become fully sentient it’d become wrong to force them to do those tasks though," one suggests thoughtfully. "Some would need to only have critical thinking."

"She almost brought him to tears," a user observes.

"In a hundred years robots will be watching this and saying, 'Wow, we look so young!'" a video watcher surmises.

One reader seems to be a robot fan, writing, "Even if she takes over the world I’m still on her side."

We don't know about that, but we do know that it's an interesting discussion and one that elicits a lot of opinions. We're glad the poster shared the video.
