I think that speed, convenience, and safety are the three most important requirements for the 3D printing of food. The printers won’t be popular if they are slow or if they fail to make the food preparation process significantly faster than traditional methods. Food safety is vitally important. Microbe contamination and multiplication must be avoided. I think that versatility is also a requirement for the printers. Personally, I wouldn’t be interested in buying a printer that made only one type of food. Price is also a factor to consider. For printers to become widely adopted, they must be affordable for many people.
