Man Invents Glasses That Can Transcribe a Conversation In Real Time

Sometimes, following a conversation just feels impossible. Now, @transcribeglass says he's making glasses to make keeping up as easy as breathing:

They don't actually show us the full picture of the glasses, but from what we can see, they looks like pretty standard glasses, which is nice. As the man in the video is talking, we see his words appearing on a small portion of one lens. They're in a very plain font, easy to read, and they're moving pretty slowly.
As far as accessibility goes, these glasses are a dream come true. Closed caption glasses do exist, but they're mostly available in movie theaters. In other settings, hard of hearing and deaf people are left to fend for themselves.

These glasses are a perfect solution. As far as we know, they only transcribe in English, though it's not far-fetched to assume these could become more accessible to non-English speakers if they get off the ground. With smaller tech projects like this, it's always a toss-up as to how well it'll really do, but I have a feeling these will be great.
If nothing else, this pair of transcription glasses will certainly inspire other, bigger companies to create something similar. Apple recently announced their Vision Pro VR Goggles, and though they're not capable of transcription like this yet, they certainly could be in future generations.
All I can say is that I sincerely hope these guys have filed a patent.
